WYNDHAM Estate's 107-year-old landmark Dalwood winery is about to take on a new look with $1.5 million of improvements set to begin.
Singleton Council has approved a development application subject to the company improving its waste water management system. The new look is part of a company makeover with parent company Pernod Ricard introducing a new range of wines, labels and signs with a focus on its Dalwood operations.Wyndham Estate public relations and operations manager Scott Richardson said yesterday the $1.5 million would be spent over three years and the work would include landscaping."Our idea is to keep the heritage appeal of the building," Mr Richardson said.He said its value would not be compromised by using contemporary materials such as chrome and glass fixtures. The money was being spent to rejuvenate the Wyndham Estate brand and to seek a wider market nationally and internationally.Wyndham Estate produces about 1.2 million cases of wine a year, exporting 72 per cent of that figure to major markets in Canada, Asia, Ireland and New Zealand.
